Unified Marine, Inc Challenges Other Businesses

A $2000 donation to Feed My Sheep ministry was announced Wednesday. From left are David Nirenberg, CEO of Unified Marine, which made the donation; Larry Churchwell, Unified Marine's Operations Manager; Lynn Daniels, and Rev. Dayton Livington, Feed My Sheep director.

NEWPORT- A newcomer to Cocke County's industrial family, Unified Marine, recently donated $2000 to Feed My Sheep, a local ministry which operates a soup kitchen at the intersection of C Avenue and Main Street. "This money," said Unified Marine CEO David Nirenberg," covers a cash flow problem for 2006. We have also pledged an additional $2000 for 2007, which will be paid on a monthly basis." In making the donation, Nirenberg also challenged local businesses and civic organizations to help the ministry. Currently Feed My Sheep's soup kitchen only serves meals at lunchtime. On Tuesday, January 16, representatives of Unified Marine will be on hand to host an evening meal, to be served from 5:00-6:30 p.m. "We challenge other businesses and organizations to take an evening during the week to sponsor similar dinners," said Nirenberg. "We are also looking into the possibility of establishing an emergency fund for families who need immediate shelter," added Nirenberg. Nirenberg added that prior to coming to Tennessee, his work in Florida included a stint with the American Red Cross's efforts to provide shelter for hurricane victims, "up to 400 at a time." Feed My Sheep is under the direction of Rev. Dayton Livington, whose wife, Carol, directs the soup kitchen. "We thank Unified Marine for their donation," said Rev. Livington. "Any other help is always welcome. Our soup kitchen feeds everyone, regardless. "

Unified Marine, Inc., manufacturer of SeaSense® marine and trailer accessories, relocated to Newport Tennessee from Naples Florida in May of 2006.
